Sequential pneumatic compression has been used in clinics and professional sport for decades, mainly to speed up venous return and reduce that heavy-legs feeling. What the evidence backs most solidly is exactly that: heaviness and perceived recovery. What is NOT proven is that it makes you perform better the next day or removes soreness. If someone sells you that, they're selling you smoke.
It has no console. Classic boots have an external motor connected by tubes: that allows more chambers and higher pressures, but forces you to keep the unit set up in one fixed place. CREATH Press carries the motor inside the boot itself. You lose some peak power and gain the ability to use it in the locker room, the hotel or on the sofa with nothing to set up.
20 minutes, after training or in the evening. Every day if you like. There's no proven benefit in going beyond that, so we're not going to tell you to use it more just to wear the battery down faster.
A bit, yes. There's an air pump inside and it sounds like an arm blood-pressure cuff each time a chamber inflates. The manufacturer measures it at 55 dB(A) maximum from one metre away: the level of a quiet conversation. You can watch TV with them on, but it isn't silent and we won't tell you it is.
There are four sizes, chosen mainly by your height: S for 155-169 cm, M for 170-183, L for 180-200 and XL for 192-220. The second figure is your thigh circumference at its widest: S takes up to 68 cm and the rest up to 76 cm. If you're between two sizes, also measure your leg from groin to ankle (S: 70-80 cm · M: 75-83 · L: 80-95 · XL: 90-105). If you get it wrong, a size swap within 30 days is free.
We don't sell it for that and we won't tell you it does. Fluid retention and varicose veins are medical matters: if that's your case, what you need is a medical device with the pressure your doctor prescribes, not a sports wellness product. What you will notice with this one is the tired-legs feeling at the end of the day, which is a different thing.
Sequential compression supports venous return while you're wearing it: that's why your legs feel lighter when you take it off. But that's an effect during and right after the session, not a circulatory treatment. If you have a diagnosed circulatory condition, check with your doctor before using it.
Yes, and that's where you'll notice it most: any sport that loads the lower body. Long runs and intervals in running, squats and WODs in CrossFit, long rides on the bike. Muscle recovery works the same in all three, because what changes isn't the sport but how much blood is pooled in your legs when you finish.
No. The boots are operated with the buttons on the control unit itself: power, mode, pressure and time. There is a free manufacturer app (Beoka, for iOS and Android) that connects over Bluetooth and lets you go finer, such as setting pressure chamber by chamber. It's optional and requires creating an account with your email, so if you'd rather not, you lose no essential function. The two boots do pair with each other over Bluetooth to work together, and that needs no phone.
The two USB-C cables come in the box, but the wall plug does not: any 5 V, 2 A one works, like your phone's. We say it plainly because it's the kind of detail you discover on opening the box and it annoys. The two batteries charge in about 3 hours and give around 150 minutes of use each.
No. It's a sports wellness product and is not registered as a medical device, so we don't use it to treat any condition and we make no medical claims. If you're looking for compression to treat lymphoedema or diagnosed venous insufficiency, you need a medical device and your doctor's prescription.
